Raising The Bar!12 Home Bars That We Adore

I love bars!

I know how that sounds but hear me out.

Whether it be a bar cart, a credenza, or custom millwork I think that bars are such a fun addition to your space…responsibly of course.

A bar is a great place to feature bold artwork or bring in a pop of color!

What makes a home bar truly amazing?

There are no right or wrong answers but I have my suggestions that will help take your bar to the next level.

Essentials

1) Glassware – There is no shortage of options in this department. The internet, retail shops, Etsy, estate sale, you name it and you can find glassware.

2) Bar Tools – More than likely if you’re looking to step up your bar game then you enjoy hosting or your looking to unwind at the end of a long day. One of the best additions to any bar are the tools to concoct delicious cocktails!

Not only does it help the taste and quality of the drink but tools make your bar look like professional, like you know what your doing!

3) Flowers and/or Fresh Citrus – Including a living element is nice additional to in any part of your home. Fresh flowers add beauty to your bar and a lovely fragrance. Fresh citrus is usually needed when preparing drinks and the vibrant colors are visually pleasing so it’s a win-win.

4) Alcohol – Last but certainly not least, the star of the show is the assortment of spirits. This is totally personal preference.
I like to keep an array of options for friends and family who come over so that there is something for everyone.

I would also recommend keeping a selection of juices and soft drinks for mixing the drinks.

5)Lamp-This is an honorable mention and while it is not an “essential” to some, I adore a lamp on bar! It adds great ambient lighting to that area and it is another way to bring in color/texture.

6) ARTWORK! – One last thing, no bar is complete without art. Depending on the wall behind your bar you can experiment with a gallery wall or go simple with one large piece of art. This is where the personality comes in.
